Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of skincare use and self-esteem in college students. This study is a quantitative study using a correlational method. The sample in this study were 60 skincare users aged 18-30 years who were active students at Darul ‘Ulum University Jombang. The sampling technique used in this study was conducted online using a purposive random sampling technique. Data analysis used Spearman’s Rho correlation. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using Spearman’s Rho correlation, the correlation value rxy = 0.125 with a significance value = 0.341 (Sig. > 0.05). This indicates that the hypothesis in this study is rejected, meaning there is no significance relationship between the intensity of skincare use and self-esteem in college students. The results of the Spearman Rho correlation coefficient indicate a positive direction of the relationship but the relationship is not convincing, meaning that the high or low intensity of skincare use is not relate to self-esteem in college students.
