Abstract

Uswatun Hasanah : Guidance and Counseling Teachers’ Efforts in Handling Bullying Cases among Students at SMPN 2 Mojoagung, Islamic Education Study Program, Universitas Darul Ulum Jombang, 2025.

Bullying in the school environment, especially at the junior high school level, is a problem that can disrupt the psychological and academic development of students at SMPN 2 Mojoagung. Bullying behavior occurs among students in various forms, including verbal, physical, and social aggression. The role of guidance and counseling (BK) teachers is crucial in addressing and guiding students involved in bullying cases. Based on this background, this study aims to examine how BK teachers conduct guidance and counseling for both perpetrators and victims of bullying.
This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach and was conducted at SMPN 2 Mojoagung, Jombang Regency. The data sources consisted of three components: informants, events, and documents. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
The results of this study include: (1) the planning stage, where BK teachers prepare lesson plans (RPP) for student guidance; (2) the implementation stage, which includes classroom guidance such as prayers before and after sessions, counseling activities, and the delivery of moral advice; and outside-class activities such as promoting the 5S culture (smile, greet, salute, polite, and courteous behavior); and (3) the evaluation stage of student guidance conducted by BK teachers.
The conclusion shows that the guidance conducted by BK teachers in bullying cases—through individual counseling, informational sessions, and character-building activities—has been implemented properly both inside and outside the classroom, thereby reducing the rate of bullying incidents. The researcher recommends that BK teachers remain responsive to students’ mental and emotional development.
