Abstract
This research aims to describe the implementation of using the Quizizz application as a formative assessment tool and to determine its impact on students’ enthusiasm and learning motivation at SDN Ngampungan Bareng. The background of this study is the low enthusiasm of students in participating in conventional assessments, which tend to be monotonous and less engaging for elementary school students. Therefore, innovative and interactive media are needed to increase student participation and learning enthusiasm, one of which is through the Quizizz application.
The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Islamic Education teachers, the school principal, and fifth-grade students at SDN Ngampungan Bareng.
The results showed that the use of the Quizizz application in formative assessment had a positive impact on students’ enthusiasm and learning motivation. Students were more enthusiastic and active in participating in learning evaluations due to the interactive, fun, and game-based quiz presentation. Teachers also felt assisted in evaluating learning outcomes efficiently and in real-time. Thus, the implementation of Quizizz proved effective as a formative assessment tool that fosters students’ enthusiasm and learning motivation in elementary schools.
In addition, for more optimal results, it is suggested that teachers not only use the Quizizz application as an assessment tool but also integrate it into daily learning activities. This aims to familiarize students with digital approaches and to instill religious values in Islamic Education in a fun way that adapts to technological developments.
