Upaya Guru PAI Dalam Mengatasi Miskonsepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Pendidikan Agama Islam Di MI Islamiyah Plosogenuk Kecamatan Perak Kabupaten Jombang

Saidah Nur Amala: The Efforts of Islamic Education Teachers in Overcoming Public Misconceptions about Islamic Education at MI Islamiyah Plosogenuk, Perak District, Jombang Regency, Islamic Education Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Darul ‘Ulum Jombang, 2025.

This study aims to identify public misconceptions about Islamic Education at MI Islamiyah Plosogenuk, Perak District, Jombang Regency, to examine the efforts of Islamic Education teachers in addressing these misconceptions, and to analyze the factors influencing the success and failure of such efforts.

This research applied a qualitative descriptive method, intended to provide a depiction of phenomena according to actual conditions. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.

The findings indicate that misconceptions still exist among the community of Plosogenuk Village, where Islamic Education is often perceived merely as memorization and formal worship, and considered less important compared to general subjects. To address this issue, Islamic Education teachers play an active role through personal approaches, involvement in religious activities, integration of Islamic Education values into social life, and the use of social media. These efforts have had a positive impact on improving public understanding, although challenges such as low educational background and economic busyness remain as obstacles.
