Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to improve library services through user-friendly and responsive web-based systems. This study aims to design the user interface (UI) of a web-based library information system at MA Mazroatul Ulum Lamongan using the User Centered Design (UCD) approach. The design process was carried out through stages of identifying user needs, creating prototypes, evaluating, and testing, involving direct user participation to ensure the design meets actual needs. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and prototype testing involving 15 respondents. Evaluation using Maze Testing to measure interaction efficiency achieved a score of 82%, while the System Usability Scale (SUS) scored 83.25%, categorized as Excellent. Furthermore, responsiveness testing showed that the UI displayed optimally across various laptop screen resolutions. These findings confirm that the application of the UCD method can produce a UI design that meets usability criteria, facilitates library management processes, and delivers an optimal user experience, making it feasible for implementation in a school environment.
