Abstract
This research aims to determine parents' perceptions and the factors influencing them regarding the importance of Islamic religious education for children in the digital era in Tanggungan Santren Hamlet, Bandung Village Diwek District Jombang Regency.
This research uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive approach. The data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing.
The research result show two perceptions: positive perceptions of parents include parents' awareness of Islamic religious education in shaping children's character and moral in the digital era, parent's awareness of the challenges of the digital era, availability of digital learning reasources, and strengthening family bonds. Meanwhile, negative perceptions are caused by parents' difficulties in guiding their children, children's tendency to use gadgets or mobile phones for entertainment, and the assumption that Islamic religious education is merely about reciting the Qur'an.
The factors influencing parents' perceptions are devided into two categories: internal and external factors. Internal factors include parent' understanding and Islam, their personal experiences with religious education, and the influence of their social environment. External factors include the positifve and negative impacts of technology, the parents' economic situation, and their children's learning styles and interests.
