ABSTRACT

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE QUR'AN READING AND WRITING PROGRAM (BTQ) AND QUR'AN MEMORIZATION (TAHFIDZ) IN IMPROVING THE ABILITY TO READ THE QUR'AN AT MI AINUL ULUM 01 KAROBELAH MOJOAGUNG JOMBANG

The phenomenon of low Qur’anic literacy among elementary school students remains a common issue. Therefore, through the implementation of the Baca Tulis Qur’an (BTQ) and Tahfidz Al-Qur’an programs, students are able to develop the ability to read the Qur’an correctly and properly. This study employed a qualitative case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while the analysis was carried out using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques.
The findings of this research show that the implementation of the BTQ and Tahfidz Al-Qur’an programs includes several stages. The planning stage consists of establishing the BTQ management team, recruiting BTQ and Tahfidz teachers, preparing the BTQ curriculum, determining the financial incentives (bisyaroh), and scheduling. The implementation stage includes initial assessments, program execution, methods of teaching, and the use of pegon in the Tahfidz Al-Qur’an class. The evaluation stage involves activities such as level advancement tests (Tes Kenaikan Jilid), memorization tests, munaqosah of Juz 30, memorization of tahlil, and recitation of the classical text Aqidatul Awwam.
The results indicate that the BTQ program enables students to recognize hijaiyah letters, read the Qur’an correctly, and write in Tilawati script neatly. Meanwhile, the Tahfidz Al-Qur’an program shows that students are able to memorize short surahs according to the target and develop the habit of daily muroja’ah. In terms of achievements, the students have participated in the tasmi’ event at the sub-district level (Mojoagung) and the graduation ceremony of sixth-grade students.
Supporting factors of the program include: (a) a well-structured curriculum and methods, (b) adequate learning facilities and infrastructure, (c) support from various stakeholders, and (d) students’ motivation and enthusiasm. Inhibiting factors include: (a) financial constraints, (b) limited human resources, (c) partially inadequate facilities and infrastructure, (d) insufficient learning time allocation, and (e) lack of parental awareness in guiding their children at home.
