Abstract

Self-esteem is how a person assesses himself, either positively or negatively, which will ultimately affect feelings of self-esteem. Self-esteem allows individuals to believe in their own abilities in determining what can and cannot be done.
The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of Effective Catur Murti Counseling in increasing self-esteem in students. This study uses a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental research type with the research design used is The One Shot Case Study. Data analysis used to test the hypothesis is the Paired sample t-test. The population in this study were 40 students of Darul 'Ulum University Jombang, 5 representatives from each faculty. The sample used was 6 students who had a low self-esteem category.
The instrument used in this study was the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES), an inventory submitted by the researcher consisting of 50 items whose validity was tested on 30 respondents. From the results of the validity test, the value of r count > r table was determined, so the items declared valid were 50 questions with r table = 0.361. The calculation result of the inventory reliability was 0.983, which was greater than 0.60 (0.983> 0.60), so it was concluded that the self-esteem inventory could be used to collect the data needed in this study.
Based on the results of data analysis using the Paired Samples t-test, the t-count value is -11.534 and the sig. value obtained is 0.000. Because the sig. value is 0.000 <0.05, then Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant influence of the pertemuan pertama and posttest values after being given Catur Murti counseling. Based on the test above, it shows that there is a significant influence on Catur Murti counseling in increasing the self-esteem of Darul 'Ulum Jombang University Students.
