Abstract

This research examines the impact of communication intensity, message relevance, and community involvement in the Satbinmas program on public perceptions of police professionalism, focusing on the Jombang Police Department. The study's background is rooted in the need to strengthen police-community relationships through programs that are not only informative but also actively involve the community.
The study employs a quantitative approach using survey methods and multiple linear regression analysis to test the relationships between the defined variables. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents from various community segments who are involved in or interact with the Satbinmas program. Validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests were conducted to ensure the data’s accuracy and consistency.
Findings indicate that communication intensity, message relevance, and community involvement positively and significantly affect public perceptions of police professionalism. Appropriate communication intensity and message relevance strengthen the relationship between the community and the police, while active community involvement in the Satbinmas program increases trust and positive perception of the police.
