Abstract
Academic procrastination is defined as a form of behavioral condition of a person who often delays doing academic assignments. Academic procrastination is a habitual behavior carried out by students. So this can be handled with the concept of Behavioral counseling. So that through Behavioral counseling, maladaptive behavior, namely the habit of procrastinating, will be eliminated by strengthening new, better behavior. The aim of this research is to find out whether behavioral counseling with self-management techniques is effective in overcoming students' academic procrastination.
The method used in this research is quantitative with a one group pretest-posttest design. This research used a research questionnaire with a Likert scale measurement scale, then validity and reliability tests were carried out. The subjects of this research were class XI-4 AWH Tebuireng High School. The number of samples taken was 28 students using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used the normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test using SPSS 23 for Windows.
Results of Behavioral counseling with Self-management Techniques to overcome Academic Procrastination of AWH Tebuireng High School students. The hypothesis Ha is accepted, Ho is rejected, it can be proven from data analysis using paired sample T-Test with the results of T-count 11,294 > T-table 2,052 (sig < 0.05), meaning that there is a difference in students' academic procrastination before (pretest) with a number of 56.7 and posttest with a number 67.1
