Abstract
This research is motivated by the phenomenon of high unemployment rates
with undergraduate status in the Jombang area. The variables used in this
research are work readiness and self-efficacy. Work readiness can be interpreted
as a person's maturity in responding to various tasks. Work readiness helps
someone build the career they want, encouraging them to form a character of
responsibility, discipline, tenacity, toughness and being better prepared to face the
problems they will face. Meanwhile, self-efficacy is a person's belief in their
abilities. The higher the self-efficacy, the more confident they will be that they can
carry out a certain task or pressure.
This research is a quantitative study with the aim of finding out the
relationship between self-efficacy and work readiness among students at Darul
'Ulum University, Jombang. The data collection process was carried out using a
purposive random sampling technique by sampling data sources using certain
criteria. The sample in this study were students who were in the early adult
development phase with an age range of 18-25 years.
The results of this research show that there is a positive relationship between
self-efficacy and work readiness among Darul 'Ulum Jombang University students
with a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.741 and sig = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus,
the higher the self-efficacy, the higher the work readiness and the lower the selfefficacy, the lower the work readiness. Basically, self-efficacy can increase
students' ability to work and adapt to the work environment more easily. This is
because self-efficacy influences the learning process and also influences behavior
so that it can shape work readiness.
