Pedagogical competency is the ability to manage student learning which includes understanding students, designing and implementing learning, evaluating learning outcomes, and developing students to actualize the various potentials they have. Professional competence is the ability to master learning material broadly and in depth which enables it to guide students to meet established competency standards. The importance of motivation in learning is determining the reinforcement of learning. Motivation can play a role in strengthening learning if a student who is studying is faced with a problem that requires a solution, and can only be solved thanks to the help of the things he has gone through.
This research aims to examine the influence of pedagogical competence and professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers on students' interest in learning. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with an explanatory approach carried out by collecting data in the field. The research population consisted of all class XI students at MA Darul Ulum Bandung Diwek Jombang, with a research sample of 70 students. Data analysis was carried out using the multiple linear regression statistical method, and hypothesis testing and coefficient of determination were carried out.
Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis, it has a constant value of 6.189 and the pedagogical competency variable has a positive value of 0.401 and the professional competency variable has a positive value of 0.586. Therefore, it can be interpreted that there is a positive and significant influence between pedagogical competence on the learning motivation of students at MA Darul Ulum Bandung Diwek Jombang. This means that the better the pedagogical competence, the more students' learning motivation tends to increase. Apart from that, a positive and significant influence was also found between professional competence on the learning motivation of students at MA Darul Ulum Bandung Diwek Jombang. Good professional competence has the potential to influence students' motivation in learning. Thus, this research concludes that the pedagogical competence and professional competence of guidance teachers play an important role in increasing the learning motivation of students at MA Darul Ulum Bandung Diwek Jombang.
