Abstract

The research in this thesis is motivated by the problems faced by class V students of Mi Roudlotul Ulum Pilang Wonoayu Sidoarjo, where their ability to read the Al-Qur'an is still lacking. Responding to this problem, researchers used the Drill method to increase students' ability to read the Al-Qur’an.
This type of research is experimental research which aims to improve the ability to read the Al-Qur'an using the Drill method for Mi Roudlotul Ulum Pilang Wonoayu Sidoarjo students. The subjects of this research were 30 class V students with a composition of 19 men and 11 women. The data collection method was carried out using an Al-Qur'an reading test. The data analysis technique used is descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
Based on the results of research using inferential statistical analysis using the t-test formula, it can be seen that the value t count = 11,94 and t table = 2,045, then it is obtained t count > t table or 11,94 > 2,045, so it can be concluded that Ha accepted and H0 refused. This means that the influence of the Drill method on the ability to read the Al-Qur'an in class V students at Mi Roudlotul Ulum Pilang Wonoayu Sidoarjo.
As for the results of inferential statistical analysis in terms of improving reading of the Al-Qur'an using the t-test formula, it can be seen that t count = 11,04 and t table = 2,045, then it is obtained t count > t table or 11,04 > 2,045, so it can be concluded that Ha accepted and H0 refused. This means that the influence of the Drill method in improving Al-Qur'an reading in class V students at Mi Roudlotul Ulum Pilang Wonoayu Sidoarjo. The implication of this research is that teachers are expected to introduce and train students' skills in the teaching and learning process using the Drill method, to avoid student boredom during learning so that students' abilities increase and develop the required attitudes and values.
