Abstract
ANALYSIS OF SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION AT KEBONAGING
INTERSECTION IN PASURUAN CITY
ARYO KRISTANTO 2023 2220 1020
ABSTRACT
Traffic congestion and busyness often occur on roads or intersections,
especially in the morning or evening when students, workers and traders go to their
respective places of activity. Kebonagung Intersection is one of the signalized
intersections in Pasuruan City. However, the presence of traffic lights has not been
able to overcome congestion due to the large volume of vehicles. Geometric surveys
and traffic surveys were carried out for six hours over three days, namely in the
morning, afternoon, and evening which are considered peak hours. The selection of
days was chosen on Monday as a busy day, Wednesday as a weekday, and Sunday
as a holiday. The method used in this study uses the Indonesian Road Capacity
Guidelines (PKJI) 2014. The results of the existing analysis obtained values on the
North arm (U) obtained DJ 1.12, queue length 305 m, and delay 328.9 sec/sec.
South arm (S) with a DJ value of 1.22, queue length 457 m, and delay 505.6 sec/sec.
On the East arm (T) with a DJ value of 1.10, queue length 319 m, and delay 292.7
sec/sec. And on the West arm (B) obtained a DJ value of 1.37, queue length 675 m,
and delay 796.7 sec/sec. After re-analyzing, an alternative solution was obtained to
improve the performance of the intersection, namely by widening the road width
on the West arm (B) which was originally 9.00 m to 11.00 m, and rearranging the
APILL phase which was originally two phases to four phases, and the results
obtained on the North arm (U) obtained a DJ value of 0.68, a queue length of 84 m,
and a delay of 91.4 sec/sec. South arm (S) with a DJ value of 0.74, a queue length
of 110 m, and a delay of 93.7 sec/sec. On the East arm (T) with a DJ value of 0.70,
a queue length of 107 m, and a delay of 92.0 sec/sec. And on the West arm (B)
obtained a DJ value of 0.56, a queue length of 87.8 m, and a delay of 796.7 sec/sec.
