The Relationship between Parents' Democratic Parenting Pattern and Adolescent Emotional Intelligence in Man 3 Kediri

This research aims to determine the relationship between democratic parenting styles of parents and the emotional intelligence of adolescents at MAN 3 Kediri. This research involved 83 respondents, the data collection technique used purposive sampling which was carried out online via Google form. Based on the results of the Pearson Product Moment correlation test analysis, the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.464 with a significance value of 0.000 (ρ <0.05) was obtained. This shows that there is a significant positive correlation between parents' democratic parenting style and teenagers' emotional intelligence, meaning that the higher the parents' implementation of democratic parenting patterns, the higher the teenagers' emotional intelligence. On the other hand, the lower the implementation of a parent's democratic parenting style, the lower the adolescent's emotional intelligence. Obtained r² = 0.2152 or 21.52% of parents' democratic parenting style contributes to teenagers' emotional intelligence.
