Due to the frequent overflow of water during the rainy season, this is because the Bancang River can no longer accommodate the large water discharge, resulting in embankments breaking and causing flooding in 2022. This is influenced by sedimentation, landslides and blockages at several points in the Bancang River Basin. For this reason, the Bancang River Normalization study for controlling floods in Tondowulan Village, Plandaan District aims to find out the planned dimensions of the river so that flooding does not occur
The method used is data collection, hydrological analysis and report preparation. The data obtained from this study is to know the condition of the existing cross-section of the Bancang River, to know how much flood discharge the planned dimensions of the river will be so that flooding does not occur and to know the technical implementation of normalization
From the results of research on the magnitude of the existing peak flood discharge (Qp-flood) on the Bancang River using the Rational method, namely a 100 year return period of 222.5 m3/s, the total potential sediment rate of the Bancang River watershed before the changes was 7,827,517 tons/ha/yr or 9,393,020 m3/ha/yr, the erosion rate is 652,293 mm/yr or 65.23 cm/yr
