Economic progress throughout the country cannot be formulated for short-term interests, but rather to reach long-term interests and in accordance with community needs. The implementation of development and planning should contain community empowerment, so that people can have access to economic resources. Thus, efforts to improve community welfare and reduce poverty and inequality in a rural area must be made into a village government program in development activities in the future. Thus, the presence of village owned business entity must be seen as a process that includes various changes to social structures, community participation and existing institutions, as well as pursuing accelerated economic growth. One of the districts that established of village owned business entity with the aim of strengthening the village economy in villages in Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency is village owned business entity in Mojowarno District which was founded in 2015. This type of research uses qualitative research, namely research aimed at describing and analyzing phenomena, events, activities social, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions and thoughts individually and in groups. The data collection methods used are the observation method, interview method, and documentation method. The research results show that village owned business entity in Mojowarno District is a facility or business unit that can help the community improve their welfare. The role of village owned business entity in helping overcome the community's economic problems is sufficient, although not yet optimal. Several business units run by village owned business entity have been running well, as can be seen from the ease with which people can borrow capital to develop their businesses.
