Abstract
In the Islamic perspective, character is synonymous with morals, while morals are synonymous with personality. The formation of a person's character is influenced by three environmental aspects. This shift in the culture of politeness has spread across all sectors, even schools in various places and regions are contributing to it. For example, schools' politeness culture has abandoned or excluded Javanese cultural values. Some simply convey material without attempting to incorporate these cultural values, which have become beliefs, into everyday practice. This is also the case for fifth-grade students at Roudlotul Mubtadiin, Mojo, Kediri. Therefore, special attention is needed to address this issue, and concrete efforts from the educational environment are needed to anticipate this.
This study employed a qualitative method, a type of research that focuses on an in-depth description of a phenomenon or event. Researchers not only collect data but also explore the meaning behind the data through careful analysis. In qualitative research, researchers seek to understand a phenomenon from the perspective of the research subjects. The data obtained is generally in the form of words, whether from interviews, observations, or documents, which are then analyzed in depth to discover the underlying meaning.
The study concluded that Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Faith and Morals) learning plays a central role in shaping and developing the personalities of students at MI Roudlotul Mubtadiin, particularly in fifth grade. The success of this learning depends on the synergy between teaching methods aligned with the principles of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), focused learning objectives, teacher role models, and consistent support from the school and family environment. The role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in instilling the character values of politeness at MI Roudlotul Mubtadiin is not a simple one. It encompasses the dimensions of role modeling, education, training, direction, and evaluation, all carried out continuously and consistently.
