Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between peer conformity and obedience of students at Babussalam Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. The phenomenon shows that students often violate the rules of the boarding school, which is influenced by interactions with peers. The research subjects were 60 students at the MA level, selected using purposive random sampling technique. The measurement tools used were the peer conformity scale and obedience scale, which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed a correlation value of rxy = -0.203 with a significance of p = 0.060 (p > 0.05). This means that the proposed hypothesis was rejected, so there is no significant relationship between peer conformity and obedience of students at Babussalam Islamic Boarding School. Thus, high or low peer conformity does not affect the level of student obedience to the rules of the boarding school.
