Abstract

The flooding that occurs in the downhill area of Ngerimbi Village, Bareng District,
Jombang Regency, has become an environmental issue that significantly affects local
community activities and infrastructure conditions. This study aims to analyze the main
contributing factors to the flooding and its impacts on social, economic, and
environmental aspects. The methods used include field observations and analysis of
rainfall data and topographical conditions. Preliminary results indicate that the
combination of a poor drainage system, steep road gradient, and reduced water
infiltration areas due to land-use change are the main causes of flooding. Identified
impacts include road damage, disruption of residents’ daily activities, and health risks
due to prolonged water stagnation. This background/problem can serve as a foundation
for planning more effective technical solutions and mitigation policies to address
flooding in the area
