Abstract
This study aims to identify and analyze the role of village government in reducing stunting rates in Kaligoro Village, Kutorejo District, Mojokerto Regency. Stunting is a public health problem with long-term impacts on the quality of human resources, requiring cross-sectoral interventions, including at the village government level. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with village officials and relevant parties such as the Village Government, Village Midwives, and Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) cadres. The results indicate that village government plays a crucial role in stunting mitigation, particularly through the development of data-driven policies, allocation of village budgets for nutrition programs, and implementation of education and community empowerment programs. However, program implementation still faces challenges in terms of public awareness and economic conditions. The active role of village governments is significant in reducing stunting rates. However, stronger support and synergy between village institutions, health workers, and the community are needed to achieve more effective and sustainable results.
