Abstract
Basuki Rahmat Street in Kediri City is one of the main corridors connecting various activity centers, but frequently experiences traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. One of the main causes is the lack of optimal coordination between APILL (Traffic Signal Device) intersections, particularly the Diponegoro intersection with the Dhoho intersection which are located close to each other. Research results show that the planned traffic volume during peak hours varies at each intersection approach, with the highest volume on Diponegoro Street at 2,187 pce/hour (passenger car equivalent per hour). APILL intersection coordination through signal bandwidth optimization can improve the road network service level classification from F to C, thereby reducing delays and improving traffic flow smoothness. This research also shows that there is a close relationship between traffic volume and degree of saturation in determining the effectiveness of APILL intersection coordination. With effective coordination, queue length and delays can be significantly reduced, allowing vehicles to travel smoothly from Diponegoro Intersection to Dhoho Intersection with optimal green time cycles. The results of this research can be used as a reference for improving road network performance in Kediri City.
