Abstract

LEGAL PROTECTION FOR CHILDREN AS PERPETRATORS OF DRUG ABUSE

Wahana Wara Buddha
Student ID: 212374201061

Drug use can lead to excessive self-confidence, leading users to reckless behavior. In writing this thesis, the author used a normative method, employing a statutory approach. The research questions are: (1) Why are minors more vulnerable to drug abuse? (2) What preventive measures can be implemented effectively to address drug abuse by minors. From the legal research conducted using the aforementioned research, it can be concluded that the first problem formulation concerns the factors that make minors vulnerable to drug abuse. These factors consist of individual factors (personality), social factors (peers), family factors (broken homes), and community factors. The second problem formulation discusses the appropriate legal instruments to be applied to drug abuse by minors, namely Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System.
