The Role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Improving Community Welfare in Janti Village Jogoroto Subdistrict Jombang Regency

This study aims to analyze the role of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) Karya Abadi in improving the welfare of the community in Janti Village, Jogoroto Sub-District, Jombang District. BUMDes Karya Abadi operates four main business units: Waste Bank TPS3R, Stationery and Copy Shop, Religious Tourism, and Empowerment of UMKM Stalls through Pokdarwis Lukoyanti. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that these four business units significantly contribute to reducing the community's reliance on online loans, creating job opportunities, providing affordable basic services, and improving income and living standards. Additionally, community participation in BUMDes activities has increased alongside the BUMDes' role as a driver of the local economy. These findings emphasize that professional and participatory management of BUMDes can be an effective strategy for enhancing the sustainable well-being of rural communities.
