Abstrack
Domestic violence is a problem in the family. Domestic Violence (DV) can happen to anyone including husband, wife, and children. In this thesis will only discuss the general understanding of Domestic Violence (DV) which is narrowed down to abuse by a husband against his wife. This is understandable because most victims of Domestic Violence (DV) are wives. legal product of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence which is stated in Law Number 23 of 2004 which was ratified on September 22, 2004. The problems that occur in the village are indeed not only problems of government, customary management and things that are considered formal according to the provisions of Law Number 6 of 2014, but more than that. Violent behavior that occurs in the household at this time has become a very serious problem at the community level. The purpose of this study is to determine the duties and roles of the Village Head in legal protection for victims of domestic violence and to determine legal protection for victims of domestic violence. This study uses a normative legal method with a legal approach (status approach) which is then connected to the reality that occurs in practice in the field. The results of the study indicate that the Role of the Candimulyo Village Head is to provide direction such as advice, physical and spiritual guidance, and also participate as a third party in solving problems and finding solutions in dealing with domestic violence and the Form of legal protection for the Candimulyo village head in overcoming domestic violence. The village head has the authority to resolve social problems in the village, including Domestic Violence (KDRT), which is regulated in several regulations, such as: Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, which gives authority to the village head in organizing village government and resolving social problems, Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (UU PKDRT), which requires public officials, including village heads, to report acts of Domestic Violence (KDRT) that they know about.
