IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AL QUR'AN MEMORIZATION ACCELERATION PROGRAM IN
IMPROVING MEMORIZATION OF STUDENTS AT KWARON DIWEK JOMBANG JUNIOR
HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRAC
The Qur'an is the Word of Allah revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW as a miracle written on a
mushaf, which was revealed in a mutawatir manner and reading it is an act of worship. As Muslims who are
obliged to maintain and guard the Qur'an, there are several ways to maintain it, including reading (al-tilawah),
writing (al-kitabah) and memorizing (at-tahfidz), so that the revelation is always maintained and preserved
from changes and replacements, both letters and word order throughout time.
The Tahfidz Acceleration Program in improving students' memorization of the Qur'an is one of the
leading programs at MTs Terpadu Misykat Al Anwar Kwaron Diwek Jombang, where this program aims to
produce a superior and pious generation.
There are three focuses in this study, namely: 1) How is the role of extra tahfidz in improving students'
memorization of the Al Quran which is implemented at MTs Terpadu Misykat Al Anwar Kwaron Diwek
Tebuireng Jombang, 2) What are the inhibiting and supporting factors in extra tahfidz at MTs Terpadu Misykat
Al Anwar Kwaron Diwek Tebuireng Jombang, 3) How is the empowerment of supporting factors and the
resolution of inhibiting factors in extra tahfidz at MTs Terpadu Misykat Al Anwar Kwaron Diwek Tebuireng
Jombang
The type of research used by the author is a case study research, the approach uses a qualitative
approach, while the methods used are observation, interview and documentation methods. This qualitative
research is intended to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by the research subjects, for
example behavior, perception, motivation, actions, and others related to the role of the Tahfidz Acceleration
Program in improving students' memorization of the Al Quran, supporting and inhibiting factors and solutions
to inhibiting factors.
Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of extra tahfid in improving students'
memorization of the Qur'an is: 1), improving students' memorization of the Qur'an 2), producing alumni who
excel in the Qur'an 3), producing a generation who loves the Qur'an 4), making a generation with noble
character.
