Waqf is one of the economic resources that has proven to play a role in the economy. Many countries and regions use waqf schemes in development. After the waqf law UU No. 41 of 2004 and its implementation regulated in PP. No. 42/2006, waqf has been intensified by the government. Productive waqf is waqf whose principal goods are used for production activities and the proceeds are given in accordance with the purpose of the waqf. The profit from productive waqf is expected to help the community around the waqf. Jombang is a city of santri, where the religious base is very strong, so it is very interesting to know the extent of the development and impact of productive waqf on Economic Development in Jombang district.
The purpose of this research is: To find out the development of waqf in Jombang Regency and its impact on Economic Development in Jombang Regency.
This research uses Descriptive Qualitative Research method, using primary data at BWI and Kankemenag Kab. Jombang and secondary data. Data collection is done by observation, interview, documentation, and narrative. The focus of the research is on waqf and its impact on economic development in Jombang Regency. The analysis steps include data reduction, presentation, verification.
From the researcher's analysis, it can be seen that the development of waqf in Jombang Regency has been encouraging and significant with the presence of several waqf institutions that concentrate in the field of waqf. Mostly in the form of land waqf. From year to year, land waqf has increased, mostly in Sumobito sub-district. BWI and Penzawa Ministry of Religious Affairs as the leading sector. There are quite a lot of waqf management in Jombang Regency, including BWPT, LWP Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah Waqf Council and LW-MUI. The impact of productive waqf in Jombang is to increase the growth of society formulated by Y = C + I + G + (X-M). Among them is the presence of funding from the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia for waqf management human resources, the consumption pattern of students at PP. Bahrul Ulum which is increasing in the field of fashion, perpetual investment continues to grow, as well as the potential for import and export that is being developed by stakeholders in Jombang Regency. To increase the productivity of waqf, BWI and the government need to build partnerships with many parties, train nadzirs at affordable costs and create a Regional Waqf Index.
