Abstract

Education as a scientific discipline has become a need for every human being, because with education, knowledge and culture can be passed on to the next generation. Many problems occur in the world of education, for example problems with the curriculum, educators, facilities and infrastructure, and students. Therefore, the author is interested in conducting research with the title: "Problematics of Arabic Language Learning at School Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 4 (MTsN 4) Jombang". The formulation of the research problem is what is the process of learning Arabic at MTsN 4 Jombang, what problems are found in learning Arabic at MTsN 4 Jombang, what efforts are being made to overcome the problems of learning Arabic at MTsN 4 Jombang.
The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. This research also uses a phenomenological approach. The aim of the phenomenological approach is to describe something that is experienced or how something is experienced.
This research resulted in the conclusion that the Arabic language learning process at MTsN 4 Jombang was carried out based on educational management functions. The problems with learning Arabic at MTsN 4 Jombang are the lack of students' motivation and understanding of the teaching material, lack of teacher competence, lack of implementation of management functions and curriculum, and lack of school facilities. Efforts to overcome these problems are that teachers create a conducive learning environment, teachers recognize the characteristics of students and teaching materials, teachers provide interactive learning, teachers are able to master the class, teachers provide motivation for students, school implements good curriculum management functions, teachers use Arabic in daily conversations in school, and school completes the infrastructure for Arabic learning.
