Abstract

Structural planning is one of the stages of a series of building construction processes. Structural planning with maximum efficiency and minimum costs is a challenge for construction practitioners. For this reason, structural planning, apart from having the ability to design a strong and safe structure, must also be able to choose the type of material that is appropriate, efficient and economical for the structure. This research aims to compare the costs and time between using reinforced concrete structures for second floor columns of type K3. with steel structure.
The 4-story shophouse building is located in Lowokwaru, Malang. The building uses steel construction (existing) which has 4 floors with an area of 318 m2 and a steel frame for the roof structure. In 2023, this building was built using steel in the main structure.
This final project aims to determine the comparison of costs and time between reinforced concrete structures and steel structures. In this final project, the reference is to calculate the comparison of implementation time and construction costs using the scheduling method and preparing a cost budget based on the 2022 labor unit price (HSPK). Scheduling calculations are obtained from equipment production, calculating labor capacity for certain jobs such as beam, column and plate. Based on the results of the analysis of cost calculations and implementation time for the 2nd floor column type K3, the total cost for the concrete structure was IDR 1,194,961.00 with a project implementation time of 4 hours, while the total cost for the steel structure was IDR 2,609,49.00 with a project implementation time of 16 minutes.
