Abstract

EVALUATION OF DRAINAGE CHANNELS IN JOGOROTO VILLAGE
JOGOROTO SUB-DISTRICT, JOMBANG DISTRICT

Drainage is one of the technical efforts to reduce excess water in the area, be it rainwater,
seepage water, or excessive irrigation water, so that the area can operate normally. The
purpose of this research is to identify and evaluate existing drainage channels in
accommodating runoff discharge in Jogoroto Village Environment. The research method
used is descriptive quantitative, which is a method of calculation and description of the
results of field data processing. Calculation of rainfall data follows the Drainage Planning
Guidelines of the Department of Public Works and Indonesian National Standards (SNI).
Rainfall distribution analysis is done with Normal, Log Normal, Log Pearson III and
Gumbel distributions. Suitability test with chi squared test with 0.05 testing level. With the
Mononobe formula, the rainfall intensity value for a 5-year return period is 164.60
mm/hour. The results of this study obtained a planned flood discharge (Qr) using the
rational formula with a 5-year return period of 0.31 m3 /second while the channel capacity
(Qs) obtained results of 0.24 m3 /second so that Qr > Qs in this case the drainage channel
in Jogoroto Village, precisely in North Sumberbendo Hamlet, is unable to accommodate
the runoff discharge so it is necessary to redimension the channel. In addition, the flood
problem is also due to the concave topography of the land, sedimentation, clogging
garbage, poor flow direction due to the flat slope of the channel, there are also mounds of
soil resulting from deposition, the cleanliness of the surrounding environment which makes
runoff flow difficult to flow and the lack of regular maintenance of drainage channels which
makes the drainage network system less well functioning so that puddles or floods occur
around the jogoroto Village area, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency
