The main problem in this research is that according to theory, if the number of unemployed increases, economic growth in Jombang Regency will decrease, whereas from the data, unemployment is still experiencing fluctuations or ups and downs and economic growth has increased, although not that much. Likewise with the Human Development Index on economic growth, according to theory, if the Human Development Index increases then economic growth will decrease, whereas from the data the Human Development Index and economic growth always increase. From here it can be seen how the HDI and Unemployment influence economic growth and how much the magnitude of the influence and how much influence the Human Development and Unemployment Index has on economic growth in Jombang Regency.
This type of research is quantitative descriptive with secondary data. Meanwhile, the location of this research is Jombang Regency, East Java, the data used in this research is the Human Development Index (HDI) and Unemployment data in Jombang Regency for the 5 year period 2019-2023. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed by analyzing multiple linear regression equations with the help of the SPSS software program version 29.0.02.0.
This research produces a partial analysis of the Human Development Index (HDI) which does not have a significant effect on Economic Growth. Meanwhile, Unemployment (X2) has a t-calculated effect on Economic Growth.
This Statistical Test (F Test) research produces a simultaneous analysis that HDI (X1) and Unemployment (X2) significantly influence Economic Growth (Y). With a significance level of 0.025 < 0.05 and t count > t table of 34.814 > 4.302, the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the calculated F results, it can be interpreted that HDI (X1) and Unemployment (X2) simultaneously influence Economic Growth (Y).
