This study aims to examine the application of the habit of reading prayers in the morning in an effort to form the religious character of students at SMPN 1 Kesamben, Jombang. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the habit of reading prayers in the morning has a positive impact on the formation of students' religious character. This can be seen from the increase in students' attitudes of discipline, responsibility, and social concern. In addition, this activity also strengthens the relationship between teachers and students and creates a conducive learning atmosphere. In conclusion, the habit of reading prayers in the morning is effective in shaping the religious character of students of SMPN 1 Kesamben, Jombang.
