Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of accident vulnerability caused by the lack of complete road equipment facilities in the SPN Bangsal area. Analyzing driver behavior towards traffic conditions on the SPN Bangsal area road. Countermeasures by the police and the transportation department to prevent the high level of traffic accidents in the SPN Bangsal area.
The method used in this research is quantitative method and PKJI (Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines) method. The data used by the author is primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires in the form of a questionnaire to obtain respondents' opinions, and traffic volume data. While secondary data was obtained from the Laka Unit of the Mojokerto Police Traffic Unit, East Java Province, and population data based on BPS (Central Statistics Agency).
The results showed that the cause of traffic accidents on the SPN Bangsal road was more caused by road users (human error) than caused by vehicles or roads (environment). The calculation of the Degree of Saturation (DJ) for direction 1 from Mojosari to Mojokerto City is 0.93, while for direction 2 from Mojokerto City to Mojosari is 1.01. Efforts that can be made are by conducting socialization, education, supervision, and infrastructure improvements such as installing traffic signs at accident-prone points and adding street lighting in areas that are less bright.
