Abstract

Height measuring instrument or in the world of health is called a stadiometer or staturemeter is one of the height measuring instruments of a person that is operated manually using a height measuring ruler and requires the help of another person in charge of measuring and determining the value of his height. This is very inefficient, because in measuring the officers still have to look at the numbers on the ruler and if the person being measured is taller than the officer, it will be difficult for the officer to determine his height. To overcome this, we need a tool that can measure height automatically to help facilitate the process of measuring a person's height properly. Therefore, the authors made a study entitled Design of an Arduino-Based Human Height Measuring Device Using Ultrasonic Sensors, where this tool uses an Arduino Uno microcontroller base and there is an ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 as a height measuring sensor. The system is designed using block diagrams to illustrate how this tool works. The Arduino program is built using a C++-based programming language on the Arduino IDE software. In this system there is a file with the PHP programming language used to capture the measurement results sent from the tool to be entered into the MySQL database and display the measurement results from the database on the localhost website page. As well as phpMyAdmin for database creation media that contains a table which will be used to store height values.
